생탐학 Bioprospecting

From Opengenome.net

Bioprospecting is a short name for Biodiversity Prospecting.

It is scientific and technological research that looks for a useful application, process, or product in nature.

In many cases, bioprospecting is a search for useful organic compounds in microorganisms, plants, animals, and fungi that grow in diverse environments including extreme environments such as rainforests, deserts, and hot springs.

An example is Arazyme that was discovered in a microorganism of a spider in Korea. The enzyme is resistent to high and low PH and extreme temperatures for an enzyme.
