세포주

세포주: 긴 기간동안 배양으로 유지되어지고 있는 특정의 세포집단을 의미하는 일반용어이며, 일반적으로는 자연적으로 세포의 배양수명에 제한이 없어지는 형질전환되는 과정 거친상태의 세포집단이다.

This is a general term applied to a defined population of cells which has been maintained in a culture for an extended period and which has usually undergone a spontaneous process of transformation conferring an unlimited culture lifespan on the cells.

 

동물세포주: 동물 또는 인간에게서 얻어져서 실험실에서 유지 배양되는 단일형태의 세포를 의미한다.

Animal cell lines: Cells of a single type taken from an animal or human and grown in the laboratory.

 

식물세포주: 식물의 기관 이나 조직의 일부로부터  인공으로 제조된 배지상에서  계속적인 증식이 이루어지는 상태의 세포의 덩어리
