<p align="justify"><font face="굴림"><font color="#333333" size="2">진화적 유연관계가 가까운, 즉 분지가 일어난 시점이 얼마 안된 두 sequence를 이용해 치환률을 구한 뒤, 이것을 여러 경우에 적용시켜 기본이 되는 PAM1을 작성한다. 그런 뒤에 진화적 거리에 따라 multiply시키는 방법을 택하고 있기 때문에 진화적 거리를 예측할 수 있는 경우에는 효과적인 방법이지만 그렇지 못한 경우에는 여러 종류의 PAM을 사용해서 검증해야하는 단점이 있다.</font></font><br />

<br /><font face="굴림" color="#333333" size="2">PAM은 [[point mutation]]에 기반한 [[matrix]]로서 sequence가 짧을 수록 속도면에서 나은 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 물론 이와 같은 것이 모든 경우에 정확하게 맞는 것은 아니지만 대부분의 경우에 사용되어질 수 있고, 이 데이터에 대해서도 여러 번 반복적으로 다른&nbsp;matrix를 사용해 확인해 최적의 결과를 얻어야 한다.<br /></font><font size="1"><font face="굴림" color="#333333" size="2">조금 더 응용하자면, point mutation등으로 original gene과 약간의 차이가 생긴 cancer related gene의 mutated region을 찾고자 할 경우에는 PAM을 낮은 값으로 선택해 사용하게 되면 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있다.</font>&nbsp;</font></p>
