Chen Award for Distinguished Academic Achievement in Human Genetic and Genomic Research (US$10,000)
This award is given out in celebration of the achievement of a biomedical scientist:
· who has performed extraordinary work in biomedical sciences which has changed the thinking in the field where important technology was developed; and/or
· who has uncovered new insights which brought forth new therapies; and/or
· whose lifetime contribution has significantly impact the Asia-Pacific region
Chen NEW InVESTIGATOR Award (US$5,000)
This award is giving out in recognition of a young scientist within the Asia-Pacific region
· who has made significant contributions to the field during their early career years (normally within 15 years from the time of receiving his/her highest earned degree, in the year of the award)
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of HUGO, the first Chen Award Presentation Ceremony will be held in conjunction to our HUGO Human Genome Meeting (HGM) on 27th – 30th September 2008 in Hyderabad, India.
